OUR ROOTS
Newell Stores is a family run business and was established in 1988 as an independent supermarket. Now consisting of two stores, each with their own off licences and post offices and a state of the art kitchen for creating fresh food dishes.
OUR COMPANY MISSION
We dedicate ourselves to providing our local community with value and quality with the highest level of service possible.
Our core belief is ‘keep food simple’ – add only what you really need with a little culinary creativity. Using only the freshest produce and finest ingredients, we never compromise on quality.
Our passion is creating our own tasty dishes from local fresh produce. In our state of the art kitchen, our head chef Dylan Cushley transforms simple ingredients into wonderful tasty lunches and wholesome meals all of which can be found at our hot food and deli counters.
Our focus has always been around fresh local produce. Because we get fruit and veg deliveries 6 days a week we order only enough to keep the shelves full that day. This ensures it's as fresh as it possibly can be – spending it's shelf life at your house not ours!
We are proud of Northern Ireland’s farming traditions and we are delighted to bring you the best locally reared meat. We go direct to the breeder to fill our butcher’s counter with beef, lamb, pork and chicken. Our expert butchers make our own sausages, burgers and stir fries to guarantee freshness and quality.
Ultimately, we want you to feel inspired by our food and we love it when you just can’t decide because it all looks so good!
"Our aim at Newell Stores has always been simple, to produce fresh food using the best quality ingredients, in attractive stores, staffed with local people. Since 1988, we have worked closely with local suppliers to ensure the food you buy is of the highest quality."
- Colin Conway, Director Newell Stores

Our Bakery
The only thing better than the smell of freshly baked bread is the taste of it! Every morning our bakers fire up the ovens at 6am to bake crusty loaves, baguettes and Danish pastries.
We trust the experts - traditional french dough is delivered to us daily by Cuisine de France and used to make our baguettes, croissants and pastries. And when it comes to the best in local bread like soda and wheaten we love McGlaughlin's of Cookstown and the Busy Bee Bakery in Stewartstown.
Our bakery aisle is without doubt a tempting place to be with an array of fresh bread, cakes, buns and tray bakes from over 30 various bakeries winning us the Neighbourhood Retailer 'Bakery of the Year 2018.'
Our Butchery
We are proud of Northern Ireland’s farming traditions and we are delighted to bring you the best locally reared meat. We go direct to the breeder to fill our butcher’s counter with beef, lamb, pork and chicken.
Our beef comes from Doherty & Gray, who work with our expert butchers to ensure a 21-day maturity. We make our own sausages, burgers and stir fries to guarantee freshness and quality. We also work with Sprotts of Portadown who have been winning medals for their cured bacon and ham since 1892.
Each free-range chicken is raised with the same care as our fabulous Christmas Turkeys by Elliots of Newmills. Our fish comes fresh to the store from the Elmore family, who has been part of the fishing industry since 1894.
Our Delicatessen
Our passion is creating our own tasty dishes from local fresh produce. In our state of the art kitchen, our head chef Dylan Cushley transforms simple ingredients into wonderful tasty lunches and wholesome meals.
Our pies and quiches are all made in store - even the pastry and our soup is made from 100% natural ingredients. All our meat, fresh vegetables and ingredients come from our neighbouring departments. Our salad bar has an array of salad bowls, pastas, cooked meats and flavoured chicken and not to forget our signature creamy house coleslaw!
Whatever the season, whether you're eating on the go, filling a picnic basket or hosting a party, you'll find what you need in our deli.
Fruit & Veg
We take delivery of fresh produce 6 days a week and over 70% of our fresh fruit and veg comes from suppliers within a 20 mile radius of our stores.
The McCormack family, from the Moy countryside has been supplying our stores since 1999, expertly sourcing only the best local products, as well as carefully selected growers in Ireland, UK and Europe.
Our focus has always been around fresh produce. Because we get deliveries 6 days a week we only need to order enough to keep the shelves full. Once it arrives it goes straight to the shelves – ensuring it spends more time in your fridge than ours!
Our Hot Food Bar
Our hot food bar is a sight for hungry eyes. From early morning it's stocked with a range of hot savoury options all freshly prepared in our kitchen - from light savoury bites to hearty filling meals and not to forget our fantastic Sunday Carvery.
All our hot food is created under the watchful eye of head chef Dylan Cushley. From day to day you'll find a variety of dishes and each season we introduce new and exciting flavours so there’s always something new to try. Using only the freshest produce and finest ingredients, we never compromise on quality. Our core belief is ‘keep food simple’ – add only what you really need with a little culinary creativity.
Ultimately, we want you to feel inspired by our food and we love it when you just can’t decide because it all looks so good!
